AIM Lift (“the App”) is developed and operated by an independent individual developer (“we,” “us,” “our”), not a company. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it’s used, and your choices.
Using AIM Lift without an account holds all workout data that you enter strictly on-device only, with zero cloud functionality — you have full unrestricted use of every app feature without ever creating an account, and nothing about your use of the App, including diagnostic data, is collected or leaves your device unless and until you complete the account creation process. Creating an account is 100% voluntary. Once an account is created, all of your current and future workout data is synced to the cloud automatically. Crash reports and usage analytics are collected as well. These help us fix any crashes that you might experience as well as monitor the general usage of app features. From this point of account creation, you can stop all data collection by signing out or by deleting your account in the App (see “Your Choices and Rights” below). Signing out stops further collection but does not delete data already collected; deleting your account does.
Account information. With any kind of account you create, your email address is synced to the AIM Lift cloud. If you create a Google authorized account, a link to your Google profile picture is also synced to the AIM Lift cloud (this is provided automatically as part of Google’s sign-in process, not something we separately request).
Workout data. The App stores the workout information you enter: exercises, sets, reps, weights, workout history, personal records, and your unit preference (metric/imperial). This data is stored on your device and, if you have an account, synced securely to our cloud database (Google Firebase/Firestore) so it’s available across devices and backed up.
Notes and free-text fields. AIM Lift has several places where you can enter free text, including but not limited to: workout names, workout notes, notes on exercises within a recorded workout, routine names, routine notes, split names, custom exercise names, custom exercise descriptions, and your profile display name. Whatever you type is stored as written and synced to your account. We do not analyze the content of these fields. Do not enter ANY information you would not want stored, including medical conditions, diagnoses, medications, treatment history, or anything else you would prefer not to have stored.
App version. If you have an account, the App stores its version number and build number with your account information, so we can see which version you are using when we help with support requests. This is deleted when your account is deleted.
We do not collect: your location, contacts, camera/microphone access, or any data beyond what’s described above.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to operate the App itself (see “Third-Party Services” below), or where we are required to do so by law, legal process, or a valid request from a government or law enforcement authority.
The App uses Google Firebase for authentication and data storage. Firebase’s own privacy practices are described at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
The App uses Firebase Analytics to help us understand how the App is used (such as which screens are visited and which features are used) and Firebase Crashlytics to detect and diagnose crashes. Crash reports are tied to an internal identifier for your installation so we can look into and fix issues affecting specific users, but never include your name, email, or workout details.
The App contains external links to sites besides the App’s own legal or support pages. These sites are operated by others, not us, and this policy does not cover them. At your own discretion, review the privacy policies of any of these third party sites before providing any information.
If you’re located in these regions, the following applies in addition to the rest of this policy:
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
Nevada law (NRS 603A.400 to 603A.560) gives Nevada consumers specific rights regarding consumer health data.
The disclosures in the Nevada section above apply equally to Connecticut residents under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act. In addition, Connecticut residents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by submitting a request to the address below. All of your personal data is available for manual export on request. We do not sell personal data, do not use it for targeted advertising, and do not use it for profiling.
If you’re located in Washington State, we maintain a separate Washington Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, as required by the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373). That document, not this one, governs our collection, use, and sharing of your consumer health data.
We use industry-standard security practices (including Firebase’s built-in security rules, which restrict your data to only be readable/writable by you) to protect your information. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you have any knowledge or suspicion that a child under the age of 13 has entered personal information into AIM Lift, please contact us for assistance in deleting the information.
AIM Lift is a workout tracking tool, not a medical device or service. It does not provide medical advice. Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, especially if you have a pre-existing health condition.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
